This allows the optician to explain what the back of your eyes are telling him about your eye health, and your general health to a certain degree with things such as blood pressure control, cholesterol levels, macular health etc.
The eye test equipment is all state of the art computerised machinery. No more looking at a box on the wall whilst wearing frames into which lenses are put in and removed. You simply look through what is called a Phoropter Head, directly at a screen with a chart on it. It is a bit like looking through a pair of binoculars, as simple as that.
